UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 Exam Postponed to June 16, New Exam Date Announced
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has made a significant decision to postpone the Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2024 due to the Lok Sabha elections. The exam was initially scheduled to take place on May 26, 2024; however, it has been rescheduled to June 16, 2024, now because of the upcoming elections.
UPSC’s notification stated that the examination for the Civil Services recruitment for a total of 1206 vacancies, including 1056 designated for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and 150 reserved for the Indian Forest Service (IFS), will now be conducted on the revised date.
Every year, the UPSC exam attracts a large number of candidates aspiring to join various administrative positions in the government. The UPSC Civil Services Examination is a highly competitive test conducted in three stages, namely, Prelims, Mains, and Personality Test, to select candidates for different posts.
The UPSC prelims notification was issued on February 14, announcing the exam date as May 26. However, keeping the parliamentary elections in view, UPSC has rescheduled the exam date to June 16, 2024. Adequate information regarding the exam’s admit cards and other rules and regulations will be provided to the candidates in a timely manner.
