Uttarakhand Shankaracharya Who Questioned Ram Temple Completes Praises Pm Modi

Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand, the spiritual leader from Uttarakhand‘s Jyotish Peeth, has expressed his admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and credited him for instilling a sense of self-respect among Hindus. In the lead-up to the ‘pran-pratishta’ ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the Shankaracharya, who had earlier raised concerns about the temple’s completeness, clarified that his intentions were not to criticize anyone but to highlight the importance of the issue.

“The truth is PM Modi has made Hindus self-aware, which is no small achievement. We are not anti-Modi but his admirers. Name another prime minister who has strengthened Hindus like Modi. We appreciate his decisions such as the scrapping of Article 370, the enactment of the Citizenship Amendment Act, and his Swachchta Abhiyaan. We also commend the peaceful transition after the Supreme Court‘s ruling on the construction of the Ram Temple,” said Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand, emphasizing his support for initiatives that strengthen the Hindu community.

Earlier, the Shankaracharya had expressed concerns about conducting the ‘pran-pratishta’ in an incomplete temple. He highlighted that according to the scriptures, it is not appropriate to install the life force (“pran”) in a body without its head or eyes. Consequently, he chose not to attend the inauguration ceremony but instead engaged in discussions with responsible individuals, including members of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, to address the issue.

In light of the ongoing controversy surrounding the event, whether it was the decision of the four shankaracharyas to decline the invitation or the concerns raised by Swami Avimukteshwaranand, it is evident that the discussions surrounding the completion of the Ram Temple are multifaceted. However, the Shankaracharya’s recent reaffirmation of his admiration for PM Modi highlights the importance of acknowledging the progress and empowerment of the Hindu community.

As the ‘pran-pratishta’ ceremony takes place, it is crucial to consider the sentiments and opinions expressed by various stakeholders, including spiritual leaders like Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand, to ensure that the completion of the Ram Temple is carried out in a manner that respects the scriptures and addresses the concerns of all involved.
