Valentine's Day Chastity March Organized By Assemblies Of God Church In Lagos

The Teens Church of the Assemblies of God Church (AGC) in Surulere, Lagos, led by Pastor Chidi Udo, orchestrated a ‘Chastity March’ ahead of Valentine's Day. The event aimed to encourage adolescents and teenagers to uphold chastity until marriage as a means to counter rising sexual immorality among youths.

Hundreds of young individuals joined the road march with placards bearing messages like ‘True Love Waits’ and ‘Saving it for Marriage.’ The march spanned from the AGC premises through Funsho Williams Avenue to the National Stadium in Surulere, promoting the theme, ‘My Price Tag.’

Kaycee Onyegbule, a Youth leader at the AGC, emphasized the need to combat the trend of immorality, noting how Valentine’s Day has been marred by sexual experimentation among the youth. The Church’s efforts include empowering the youth economically and providing them with moral guidance.

Dr. Chinyere Udo, co-Pastor of the Teens Church, shared insights into the church’s initiatives to deter immorality. Programs focus on vocational skills, education support, and economic empowerment for indigent youths, aiming to steer them away from moral vices.

Blessing George, a prominent church member, highlighted the importance of raising a generation that values purity before marriage. The march, which included participants from Alapere, Ketu, Mile 12, and other districts, serves as a reminder of the significance of chastity amidst the upcoming Valentine’s Day celebrations.
