Voters in Harpenden and Slough constituencies are poised to participate in the General Election today. Polling stations will remain open until 10pm, with residents having the opportunity to influence the outcome of the election.

In Harpenden, the constituency has merged with Berkhamsted, previously under Hitchin and Harpenden. The current MP, Bim Afolami, is now running for the Hitchin seat, while Harpenden and Berkhamsted have six candidates vying for the new seat.

The candidates include Victoria Collins (Liberal Democrat), Nigel Gardner (Conservative), Zara Layne (Labour), Saba Poursaeedi (Reform UK), Paul de Hoest (Green), and Mark Patten (Social Democratic Party).

Residents are encouraged to locate their designated polling stations using the provided map and must bring photo identification to cast their votes.

Meanwhile in Slough, several polling stations are ready for voters to engage in the electoral process. Voters must ensure they go to the station specified on their polling card and bring photo ID. Those who have not registered to vote by June 18 are ineligible.
