Wedding Crashers Returns for 20th Anniversary Special Screenings
LOS ANGELES, CA — The 2005 hit comedy ‘Wedding Crashers‘ is returning to theaters this December for its 20th anniversary. Fathom Events has partnered with Universal Pictures to bring the R-rated film back to the big screen on December 4 and 11.
This special release will include an extra 10 minutes of deleted scenes that were originally part of the film’s 2006 home entertainment edition. Directed by David Dobkin, ‘Wedding Crashers’ stars Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn as lifelong friends who make a habit of crashing wedding receptions.
The film also features an ensemble cast that includes Rachel McAdams, Christopher Walken, Isla Fisher, and Brian Cox. Upon its initial release, ‘Wedding Crashers’ grossed $288 million worldwide, becoming one of the defining comedies of the 2000s.
“Few movies of the past twenty years are as laugh-out-loud funny and remain as relevant as part of the comedy landscape,” said Fathom Events CEO, Ray Nutt, in a press release. Fans can expect to relive the iconic moments and enjoy the new footage.
<p'This anniversary event marks an opportunity for old fans to revisit the film that defined a generation and for newcomers to experience it in theaters,” Nutt added. Tickets for the screenings are expected to sell quickly, so fans are encouraged to book early.
