LOS ANGELES, CA — Will Ferrell and Luke Wilson are teaming up once again for a new Netflix comedy series set in the world of professional golf. The series, which does not yet have a title, will star Ferrell as Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, a fictional golf legend, and Wilson as his rival golfer.

The show was first announced in May 2024 and will consist of 10 episodes. According to the character descriptions, Wilson’s role will be that of a golfer who has bested Ferrell’s character twice in tour championships.

Joining Ferrell and Wilson in the cast are Molly Shannon, who plays Lonnie’s outspoken ex-wife Stacy, and Jimmy Tatro as their son, Lance, an exceptional golfer in his own right. Fortune Feimster will portray Sam, a new caddie, while Chris Parnell takes on the role of Anton, a member of the PGA Tour board. Katelyn Tarver plays Lance’s supportive fiancée, Natalie, and David Hornsby rounds out the cast as Radford, who is Stacy’s wealthy new partner.

Ferrell and Wilson have a long history of collaboration, previously appearing together in films such as “Old School,” “Anchorman,” and “Blades of Glory.” This series marks Ferrell’s first starring role in television.

Ferrell is also serving as an executive producer for the series through his production company, Gloria Sanchez Productions, alongside Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor. The project is also backed by executive producers Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman from T-Street, as well as Chris Henchy, David Gordon Green, and Andrew Guest.

A release date for the new series has yet to be announced.
