Road Dogg Wwe Damian Priest Undertaker

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana — WWE Hall of Famer Brian ‘Road Dogg’ James has named Damian Priest as the modern era’s closest talent to The Undertaker. During a recent interview, Road Dogg, who is a co-lead writer for WWE’s SmackDown, expressed his admiration for the wrestler’s abilities despite his recent questionable booking.

Road Dogg was asked to create his own version of D-Generation X with current WWE stars. He mentioned Priest, along with Rhea Ripley and members of The Street Profits, saying, “Damian reminds me a lot of a younger Undertaker.” He highlighted Priest’s charismatic presence and hinted at big things for him in the future.

Priest, who broke away from The Judgment Day last year, rose to become one of WWE’s top faces, even capturing the World Heavyweight Championship during the summer of 2024. However, his recent move to SmackDown has affected his momentum, leaving some fans surprised at his omission from SummerSlam this year. Nevertheless, his standout moment was at WrestleMania 40, where he cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to win the world title.

Road Dogg has been a long-time supporter of Priest, praising him since his time in NXT and his stint in The Judgment Day. In a previous interview from February 2023, Road Dogg predicted a bright future for Priest, insisting he would one day hold the Universal Championship. “I believe he could carry it,” he said.

Priest’s path has faced challenges, especially after losing his title to Gunther at SummerSlam and struggling to regain his place in the title picture. As the WWE creative team evolves, fans are eager to see if Priest can reclaim his former glory and live up to Road Dogg’s comparisons.
