Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Anime Movie

LOS ANGELES, CA — Sony‘s latest release, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle,” is making waves at the box office. The film opened on September 12, 2025, earning an estimated $33 million on its first day, including previews. Forecasts suggest that the total weekend earnings could reach between $56 million and $60 million, marking a record opening for an anime film in the U.S.

The film, produced in collaboration with Crunchyroll, has surpassed previous hits like “Venom: The Last Dance” and “It Ends With Us.” Its initial numbers show a robust audience turnout, particularly strong among young viewers aged 18 to 34, with significant support from Hispanic and Latino audiences.

One audience member described the sense of excitement around the film, saying, “It’s required viewing for fans of the show.” The film also garnered an A grade from CinemaScore, indicating overwhelming positive reception.

On the marketing side, Sony has efficiently targeted its audience with minimal advertising spend, totaling only $74,000 compared to the larger budgets of competitors. The bulk of promotional efforts focused on channels like TBS and Adult Swim, attracting over 17 million impressions.

The film achieved tremendous success in advance sales, earning $10 million in just five days, setting a record for anime films. The social media presence surrounding “Infinity Castle” is significant, with approximately 200 million followers across platforms, showcasing rampant engagement with fans.

Additionally, the film is poised to continue its strong performance, potentially drawing even larger audiences as word-of-mouth spreads. Analysts predict that Saturday’s box office may dip by 41% from Friday, but some speculate it might exceed expectations and reach $70 million.

While “Infinity Castle” is soaring at the box office, other films like “Conjuring: Last Rites” and “Downton Abbey: Grand Finale” are also performing well. The overall box office for the weekend is projected to exceed $147 million, showing how strong the market remains for theatrical releases.
