WINDSOR, England — Former President Donald Trump attended a state banquet at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, with visible bruising on his hand that he attempted to cover with makeup. The event, part of Trump’s unprecedented visit to the U.K., welcomed 160 guests, including world leaders from various sectors.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla hosted Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at the banquet, where they posed for photographs outside St George’s Hall. The royal family shared a tweet showing the moment, highlighting the gathering of dignitaries.

The royal family’s official X account later posted a picture featuring Trump without a smile, clearly displaying the makeup-covered bruises on his right hand. This publicity drew attention, especially since the White House has mentioned that Trump’s bruising arises from frequent handshaking and is exacerbated by aspirin he takes for cardiovascular health.

In addition to the bruising, Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a condition affecting blood flow back to the heart, which has caused swelling in his ankles. Despite concerns regarding his health, former White House physician Ronny Jackson claims that Trump is “the healthiest president this nation has ever seen.”

The White House did not respond to inquiries about the royal family’s social media post showing Trump with his bruised hand on display. In previous instances, the White House has shared images that appear to hide both Trump’s ankles and any visible bruising.

During Wednesday’s banquet, Trump’s altered hand was evident in a photograph with King Charles III, who stood with his self-described “self-deprecating” smile, a contrast to Trump’s expression.
