SACRAMENTO, California — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred at the ABC10 news station on Friday afternoon. The incident, which took place around 1:30 p.m., resulted in the arrest of a 64-year-old man, Anibal Hernandezsantana, who faces three felony charges.

According to Sacramento County Jail records, Hernandezsantana is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied building, and negligent discharge of a firearm. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation, with assistance provided by the FBI.

No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire, which struck a window at the ABC10 building. A local reporter shared video on X showing multiple bullet holes in the station’s window. Witnesses reported that the shots were fired from a vehicle, which quickly fled the scene.

Hernandezsantana is currently held on $200,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday. A mugshot has not been released. On the same day as the shooting, around 15 people held a protest outside the station regarding ABC’s decision to pull ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ from the air.

ABC10, an affiliate of the Disney-owned ABC network, is owned by Tegna. Nexstar Media Group is in the process of acquiring Tegna for $6.2 billion. Following the shooting, there will be increased police patrols near ABC7 in San Francisco as a precautionary measure.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to gather more information related to the shooting incident.
