New DualSense Controller Celebrates 20 Years of God of War

LOS ANGELES, CA – Sony Interactive Entertainment announced today the launch of a limited edition DualSense controller to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its hit franchise, God of War. The controller, inspired by the series’ main character, Kratos, will be available for pre-order starting October 3, 2025, with a full launch on October 23.

The new controller design reflects Kratos’ iconic ashen skin and scarlet tattoo, marking two decades since the original God of War was released for the PlayStation 2. This limited edition DualSense controller aims to honor the character’s journey through various mythological worlds.

Dela Longfish, Associate Art Director at Santa Monica Studio, shared insights into the design process. “We were thrilled by the opportunity to celebrate this milestone with a new controller design,” Longfish said. “The form of the controller perfectly embodies Kratos’ omega tattoo, representing an iconic element of his character across both Greek and Norse sagas.”

The recommended retail price for the new DualSense controller is $84.99 in the U.S. and will vary by region. Players will be able to pre-order from participating retailers and on the PlayStation website. Fans who order directly from PlayStation will receive free launch day delivery for eligible pre-orders.
