Aces Lead Series 2-1 After Victory Over Fever in Game 3

INDIANAPOLIS — The Las Vegas Aces defeated the Indiana Fever 84-72 in Game 3 of the WNBA semifinal series on Friday night. Jackie Young led the Aces with 25 points while NaLyssa Smith contributed 16 points in front of a passionate crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
With this win, the Aces now hold a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series. A victory in Game 4 on Sunday at 3 p.m. would send Las Vegas to their third WNBA Finals in four years.
A'ja Wilson, a key player for Las Vegas, struggled during the game, finishing with only 13 points after shooting 6-of-20 from the field. Despite her difficulties, Chelsea Gray added 15 points and six assists, helping to secure the win.
Kelsey Mitchell was Indiana’s standout player, scoring 21 points. Lexie Hull finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Aliyah Boston contributed 12 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. The Fever excelled on the boards, holding a significant 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds.
Indiana made it past the first round of the playoffs despite losing several key players to injuries earlier in the season, including Caitlin Clark and Aari McDonald. The Fever had previously defeated the Aces in Game 1 of this series.
As the game progressed, Indiana struggled in the fourth quarter, going nearly nine minutes without scoring at a critical time. This lapse allowed Las Vegas to extend their lead from four to 12 points during a decisive run.
Earlier, Las Vegas controlled much of the first half, but Indiana rallied to cut the deficit to just one point at halftime, thanks in part to three consecutive 3-pointers. The Fever took the lead early in the second half, yet the Aces regained control and ultimately secured the win.
Game 4 is scheduled for Sunday, and if the Fever can win, a deciding Game 5 will be hosted in Las Vegas.
