Apple Expected to Launch iOS 26.1 on October 27, 2025

Cupertino, California — Apple is gearing up for the anticipated release of iOS 26.1, expected to launch on October 27, 2025. While Apple has not officially announced the release date, patterns from previous years suggest a late October rollout.
Every September, Apple introduces new iPhones, and the company has established a predictable cycle for software updates as well. Historical data shows that x.1 updates typically launch around this time of year. Though the release could vary slightly, October 27 appears to be a strong candidate.
This week’s update, iOS 26.0.1, included several bug fixes, but the more substantial iOS 26.1 is anticipated to address additional bugs from the major new iOS version. Users who are hesitant to upgrade to iOS 26 may want to wait for this upcoming release.
In addition to bug fixes, iOS 26.1 is set to expand Apple Intelligence features to more languages. One significant addition, the AirPods Live Translation feature, will be included in the update. Apple Music users can also look forward to a new swipe gesture for quickly switching between songs.
Furthermore, users can expect user interface updates for the Photos app’s video playback scrubber, as well as changes in the Calendar app and Phone features. The beta testing for iOS 26.1 is still ongoing, and additional features could be announced as the public release date approaches.
Users are invited to share their thoughts on whether they will wait for iOS 26.1 before upgrading from older versions, such as iOS 18.
