Ace Frehley Kiss Guitarist Cancel Concerts

LANCASTER, California — Former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley announced Monday that he has canceled all scheduled concerts due to ongoing medical issues. Frehley, 74, did not share specific details about his health but previously pulled out of a performance with Quiet Riot and Vixen at the Antelope Valley Fair.

Frehley reported that doctors advised him to refrain from traveling until he fully recovers from unspecified injuries. This precaution comes after a history of falls he experienced during performances with KISS, sometimes intentional and other times due to his high-heeled boots.

“I used to fall a lot in those boots,” Frehley said. “A lot of times, Paul would cover for me by walking over to me like it was part of the show. He made it look like it was choreography or something.” His bandmates, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, would often continue playing, making the falls seem planned.

In other news, Frehley, Simmons, and Stanley are among the performers announced to receive an award from former President Donald Trump. The KISS members will be honored in a December ceremony alongside celebrities like George Strait, Sylvester Stallone, Michael Crawford, and Gloria Gaynor.
