Angel Reese Leads Sky to Victory Over Sun

CHICAGO, IL — Angel Reese scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to help the Chicago Sky defeat the Connecticut Sun 88-64 on Wednesday night. This marked Reese’s 23rd double-double of the season and ended the Sky’s four-game losing streak.
With the win, Chicago improved to 10-30 overall and 6-15 at home this season. The Sun fell to 10-31, struggling at just 4-17 on the road. Both teams had already been eliminated from playoff contention.
Tina Charles led the Sun with 19 points, shooting 8-for-13 from the floor. In her impressive performance, Charles passed Diana Taurasi for the most field goals made in WNBA history, reaching 3,347 career field goals.
The Sky took control early, scoring the first eight points of the game. By the end of the first quarter, they led 28-10. Chicago maintained their significant advantage and was up 42-27 at halftime, after shooting 51.7% from the field in the first half. They were also strong at the free-throw line, making 11 of 13 attempts.
Saniya Rivers contributed 16 points for Connecticut, while Kamilla Cardoso added 16 points for Chicago. Additionally, Kia Nurse scored 12 points, and Rachel Banham and Elizabeth Williams each chipped in with 10 points.
Despite the win, Angel Reese accumulated her eighth technical foul, making her ineligible for the upcoming game against the Indiana Fever. Chicago looks to close out the season strong, as they have four games remaining.
