NEW YORK, NY — AMC Networks revealed new cast members for the upcoming third season of “Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire” at New York Comic-Con on October 10. The season, which will now be titled “The Vampire Lestat,” is set to premiere in 2026.

Joining the cast are Sheila Atim, known for her role in “The Woman King,” who will portray Akasha, Noah Reid from “Schitt’s Creek” as Larry, Ryan Kattner from “Destroy All Neighbors” as Salamander, Seamus Patterson from “Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities” as Alex, and Sarah Swire from “The Boys” as TC.

The third season follows the second book of Rice’s “Vampire Chronicles,” as it centers on the character of Lestat, played by Sam Reid. The series depicts Lestat’s quest to tell his story dramatically through a rock band tour. During a panel discussion, producers Mark Johnson and Hannah Moscovitch provided insights and a first-look teaser of the new season.

Atim’s character, Akasha, is a significant figure in Rice’s lore, known as the first vampire. She was hinted at in the previous season when Lestat mentioned having her blood in him. This casting aims to enhance the show’s exploration of Rice’s complex vampire mythology.

Returning cast members include Jacob Anderson as Louis, Delainey Hayles as Claudia, and Eric Bogosian as journalist Daniel Molloy. The panel also featured discussions about related upcoming projects in the “Anne Rice Immortal Universe,” signaling an expansion of this narrative world.

The season is expected to combine elements of gothic drama and contemporary storytelling, with a unique twist on the character-driven narratives that Rice is known for. “The Vampire Lestat” promises to engage both new viewers and long-time fans of Rice’s work, as it showcases Lestat as a rockstar navigating the dualities of love and immortality.

The premiere date is set for sometime in 2026, with hopes that it will resonate with audiences who appreciate horror and fantasy genres.
