Candidates Express Satisfaction With Utme Registration Process

Several candidates registering for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have expressed their satisfaction with the easy and seamless process. The registration process, according to the candidates, has been smooth and hassle-free.

One candidate, Temiloluwa Erogbogbo, highlighted the simplicity of the registration process, emphasizing that once the code is generated, the form can be bought and filled out immediately, even from the comfort of home. Her sister, Ebunoluwa Erogbogbo, also praised the ease of the process, mentioning that she completed her registration at home and received her code without any issues.

Adebisi Raheem, who is registering for the third time, expressed frustration at having to retake the UTME but mentioned that the registration process itself was not difficult. He highlighted the affordable registration fees, mentioning that he paid N6,200 without the mock exam.

The zonal coordinator of JAMB in Ibadan, Olugbenga Akintola, assured that the examination body had made adequate arrangements to ensure a seamless registration process. Akintola mentioned that there had been no complaints about any glitches or system failures during the registration process from any of the registered centres.

In a bulletin released by JAMB, it was revealed that 747 Computer Based Test (CBT) Centres have been approved for the upcoming 2024 UTME. Initially shortlisting 907 centres, the board conducted revalidation and integrity tests, certifying 747 centres for the examination. The increasing number of candidates turning up at various CBT centres in Abuja reflects the enthusiasm and participation of candidates in the registration process.

While some candidates shared positive experiences about the smoothness of the registration process, others encountered minor challenges. Chinaza Onuegbu expressed his concern about being redirected to another centre without clear reasons. Onuegbu was instructed to return the following day with his JAMB profile code, which he had not yet obtained. In contrast, Pelumi Rotimi registered seamlessly within a few minutes at the Global Learning Institute, expressing her determination to study hard for a good grade and secure admission into her preferred university.

For successful registration, candidates are required to possess certain documents, including the National Identification Number (NIN), personal information, O’level results, choice of institution and course, biometric verification, and payment of the JAMB registration fee.
