Central High School Senior Named National Merit Semi-Finalist

Central High School, USA – Adrian Posivenko, a senior at Central High School, has been named a semi-finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program. This prestigious recognition comes from the College Board, the organization behind the SAT and the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT).

Adrian was selected among thousands of students throughout the nation who took the PSAT or NMSQT last fall. This program is designed to recognize and reward academically talented students.

In addition to Adrian’s achievement, three other seniors from Central High School, Sandra Rivera, Max Kubik, and Addison Smith, were recognized as Commended National Merit Scholars. This highlights the academic excellence present in the school.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) oversees this competition, which has been recognizing student capabilities for several decades. The College Board aids more than 7 million students each year on their educational journeys.

Adrian is aspiring to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology, with plans to pursue a degree in Mechatronics, a field that blends mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and robotics. He mentioned his passion for engineering and how it drives his educational ambitions.

“Earning this recognition is a great honor, and I hope to use my experiences to pave the way for future students,” Adrian said.

The College Board, founded over 120 years ago, continues to create opportunities for students through initiatives like BigFuture, which guides students on their path to college and careers.
