Clemson and South Carolina Fall Out of AP Top 25 Rankings

New Orleans, LA — The latest AP Top 25 college football rankings saw both Clemson and South Carolina fall out after disappointing performances in Week 4.
Clemson, with a record of 1-2, was eliminated from the rankings following a 24-21 loss to Georgia Tech, where a last-second 55-yard field goal sealed their fate. The Tigers have now ended a 21-week streak in the Top 25.
Meanwhile, South Carolina dropped out after suffering a significant defeat to Vanderbilt, 31-7. The Gamecocks managed to score only one touchdown in the first quarter, failing to find the end zone thereafter. Their quarterback, LaNorris Sellers, was injured during the game, adding to the team’s struggles.
While Clemson and South Carolina exited the poll, Vanderbilt made headlines by snapping a 16-game losing streak against the Gamecocks, marking a dominant victory.
In contrast, Ohio State maintained its position at the top of the rankings, securing the No. 1 spot for three consecutive weeks. They defeated their latest opponent 37-9, thanks to standout performances from their wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, who racked up 153 yards in the game.
Following Ohio State, Penn State and LSU held their spots at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Miami made significant progress, moving up to No. 4 after a comprehensive 49-12 victory over South Florida.
The competitive landscape of college football is making headlines, with Georgia returning to the top five after an overtime win against Tennessee, and Texas A&M breaking into the top 10 following their victory over Notre Dame.
As the season progresses, college football fans will be watching closely to see how teams rebound from tough losses and continue to vie for top rankings.
