Congresswoman’s Son Arrested on Property Theft Charges in Colorado Town
The son of Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, Tyler Jay Boebert, has been taken into custody after a series of vehicle trespass and property theft incidents in Rifle, Colorado. The local police department reported the arrest stating the charges against Tyler include felony counts of criminal possession of identification documents and conspiracy to commit a felony, along with several misdemeanors and petty offenses.
Authorities revealed that the ongoing investigation involves a recent spree of vehicle break-ins and thefts in the area, leading to Tyler Boebert’s arrest. He is currently being held in the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office jail without a designated bond amount or release date.
This development follows a challenging period for the Boebert family, marked by Lauren Boebert’s divorce from her husband, Jayson Boebert, last year. The congresswoman has faced personal turmoil, including obtaining a restraining order against her ex-husband, citing threats and unauthorized entries into their home.
Recently, Lauren Boebert announced her decision to relocate from Silt to Windsor, within Colorado’s 4th Congressional District, to seek re-election in a more favorable political climate. Her move came amidst family conflicts and legal incidents involving her sons and ex-husband.
In light of Tyler Boebert’s arrest and the family’s challenges, Lauren Boebert’s office has yet to comment on the situation. Amidst the turmoil, the congresswoman continues to navigate personal and political hurdles as she prepares for the upcoming election cycle.
