Dany Turcotte Opens Up About Departure from “Tout le monde en parle”
Dany Turcotte and Guy A. Lepage recently addressed lingering questions surrounding Turcotte’s departure from the popular talk show “Tout le monde en parle.” The matter resurfaced as Turcotte discusses the experience in his latest book, where he expresses feelings of abandonment by the show’s team. In his book, he writes, “in hindsight, I am left with the impression that I was watched drowning without anyone throwing me a lifeline.”
During Sunday’s discussion, Guy A. Lepage addressed Turcotte, stating, “You occupied the ‘Fool of the King’ chair for 16 and a half years, and in your book, you seem to hold a lot against ‘Tout le monde en parle.’ I must tell you that the entire team was shaken and surprised by certain passages concerning our show.”
Turcotte’s departure from the show followed a controversial joke directed at Mamadi Camara, which sparked a flood of harsh comments and criticism on social media. At the time, Turcotte stated he left of his own accord, having lost the desire to continue. However, his book reveals that he left reluctantly, wishing the controversy had been more thoroughly discussed within the core team, particularly naming Guy A. Lepage and the show’s co-producer Guillaume Lespérance. He expressed a desire for more support from the team, especially as the show’s format was being re-evaluated due to the pandemic. He clarified that he holds no ill will towards the technical team and researchers.
