Destiny 2 Jimmy Boss Vesper's Host Dungeon

In the latest update to Destiny 2, Episode Revenant, players have encountered an unexpected and amusing surprise. The update, which was released on October 8, 2024, introduced a plethora of new content, including the updated Onslaught Salvation seasonal activity, new exotic armor, and the Alethonym exotic grenade launcher. However, it also brought an unexpected twist to the game’s The Whisper exotic mission.

Players have reported that during the mission, a new boss named ‘Jimmy, Aspect of Placeholding’ has appeared, replacing the usual boss Tulgorh, Aspect of Agony. This mysterious Jimmy is believed to be a developer placeholder that accidentally made its way into the live game. The name “Aspect of Placeholding” strongly suggests that Jimmy was not intended to be part of the final game content.

In addition to the Jimmy surprise, Destiny 2 has also launched its newest dungeon, Vesper’s Host, which has proven to be one of the most challenging content additions in recent history. For the first time, Bungie has organized a world-first race for a dungeon, a tradition usually reserved for raids. The first team to clear Vesper’s Host, Team Indebted, completed it in four hours and 23 minutes, which is longer than several classic Destiny raids and the Lightfall expansion’s Root of Nightmares.

The debut of Vesper’s Host has seen a significant increase in player engagement, with Destiny 2 achieving its highest peak player count on Steam since mid-July, reaching 89,000 players. This surge in interest is particularly noteworthy given the recent decline in player counts and sentiment following the saga-ending The Final Shape campaign.
