Devara: Part 1 Anticipated to Break Box Office Records on Opening Day
Telugu superstar Jr NTR‘s highly anticipated film, Devara: Part 1, is poised to make significant waves at both domestic and international box offices upon its release. With strong advance bookings, the film is projected to have a phenomenal opening day.
The film is expected to become the second highest-grossing Indian film globally, following the Prabhas and Deepika Padukone-starrer, Kalki 2898 AD, which garnered Rs 177.70 crore on its opening day. According to film trade portal Sacnilk, Devara: Part 1 is anticipated to earn approximately Rs 125 crore worldwide on its first day.
Domestically, Devara: Part 1 is predicted to perform exceptionally well in its home market. In the Andhra Pradesh/Telangana region, the film is expected to gross between Rs 65-70 crore. Nationwide, the opening day collections are anticipated to reach Rs 85-90 crore. The overseas market, boosted by premiere sales, is expected to add another Rs 40 crore, according to Sacnilk’s estimates.
Advance bookings for Devara: Part 1 also reflect substantial interest, with pre-sales reaching approximately Rs 75 crore worldwide. In Andhra Pradesh, pre-sales amounted to Rs 16.31 crore and in Telangana, the figure was Rs 12.88 crore, while Karnataka alone accounted for Rs 5.85 crore in ticket sales.
During a promotional event, director Koratala Siva addressed concerns regarding the film’s appeal to Hindi-speaking audiences. He stated that his focus is on crafting films that speak to all audiences, irrespective of language, saying, “While penning the story or a particular sequence, I don’t think if it would connect to the Hindi audience or not… a film would connect with all language audiences if the storywriting process happens organically.”
Devara: Part 1 is an action drama featuring Jr NTR in a double role, alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. This venture marks Jr NTR’s return to the big screen following the success of RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli.
