Thunderbolts Movie Trailer 2025

Disney has recently unveiled the official trailer for its upcoming Marvel film, “Thunderbolts,” set to hit theaters on May 2, 2025. This film introduces an ensemble of reformed villains working together, a concept that bears some resemblance to DC’s “Suicide Squad,” sans the explosive incentives.

The movie stars Sebastian Stan, known for his role as Bucky Barnes in the “Captain America” series, alongside Florence Pugh and David Harbour from “Black Widow.” This team of antiheroes includes characters who have previously been seen in other Marvel works. They are tasked with executing clandestine operations on behalf of the U.S. government.

The team’s roster, as highlighted in the trailer, features Olga Kurylenko, reprising her role as Taskmaster from “Black Widow,” Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost from “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” and Wyatt Russell as John Walker from “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” Julia Louis-Dreyfus returns as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, a character who has played a behind-the-scenes role in assembling this team, mirroring Nick Fury’s unifying presence.

Louis Pullman joins the cast, taking on a new role as a character named Bob, following Steven Yeun‘s withdrawal from the project. The film promises a blend of humor and action, with several sequences highlighted in the trailer. Notably, a scene involving Yelena deftly handling a knife has garnered attention for its dynamic portrayal.

The trailer positions Florence Pugh’s Yelena as the film’s central figure, while Sebastian Stan’s Bucky appears to play a significant, though supporting role. The trailer raises questions about character developments, particularly regarding Ghost and Taskmaster, whose appearances have undergone costume redesigns. Fans are intrigued about possible connections and revelations concerning these characters’ histories.

“Thunderbolts” is directed by Jake Schreier and produced by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. Executive producers include Louis D’Esposito, Brian Chapek, Jason Tamez, and Scarlett Johansson. The screenplay is the work of Eric Pearson, Lee Sung Jin, and Joanna Calo, promising a fresh narrative perspective in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As anticipation builds, the “Thunderbolts” trailer suggests a film rich with action and narrative complexity, aiming to captivate Marvel fans. The broader community reactions suggest a positive reception, as articulated by Forbes, anticipating an engaging cinematic experience despite the absence of marquee superheroes such as Spider-Man or Wolverine.
