Elvis Crespo Billboard Hall Of Fame Award

MIAMI, FL – Merengue star Elvis Crespo will receive the prestigious Billboard Hall of Fame Award during the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards, Telemundo and Billboard announced on Tuesday, October 14. The ceremony is set to air live on Thursday, October 23.

Crespo, a Puerto Rican icon, will perform a special set at the event, celebrating his influential career. He will be joined on stage by emerging Dominican artist Ebenezer Guerra, legendary singer Toño Rosario, and urban artist La Insuperable.

“Receiving the Billboard Hall of Fame Award is one of the greatest honors of my career,” Crespo said in a statement. “This award is not only for me, it’s for merengue, for Puerto Rico, and for every fan who has danced and celebrated life with my music. To share this moment on the Billboard Latin Music Awards stage is truly unforgettable.”

The Billboard Hall of Fame Award recognizes artists whose careers extend beyond music, taking into account their influence within and outside the music industry. Past winners include legends such as Vicente Fernández, Rocío Dúrcal, Marco Antonio Solís, and Marc Anthony.

Crespo has been a prominent figure in the music industry for nearly three decades, known for global hits like “Suavemente” and “Tu Sonrisa.” “Suavemente” topped Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart for six weeks in 1998, while “Tu Sonrisa” reached No. 1 for two weeks that same year. He also achieved crossover success with tracks like “Azukita” alongside Steve Aoki and “Bailar” with Deorro.

The Billboard Latin Music Awards will be broadcast live on Telemundo and streamed on the Telemundo App and Peacock, reaching audiences across Latin America and the Caribbean through Telemundo Internacional. Tickets for the event are currently available.

Crespo is among a lineup of confirmed performers at the awards, including Carlos Vives, Danny Ocean, Emilia, Grupo Frontera, Laura Pausini, Wisin, and others. The event coincides with Billboard Latin Music Week, taking place at The Fillmore Miami Beach from October 20-24.
