Largo, FL — A false alarm triggered a significant police response at Largo High School on Thursday afternoon. The Largo Police Department confirmed the situation in a statement issued on social media platform X.
The police stated, “The Largo Police Department responded to a false alarm activation at Largo High School. There is no incident and no injuries reported.” Despite the reassurance, the department warned that the dismissal of students may be affected as they continued to follow their protocols.
Social media buzzed with concern as numerous reports surfaced, alleging the school was under lockdown. Pictures shared online depicted a heavy police presence surrounding the building.
One user on X inquired, “What is going on at Largo High School? Police, fire, and multiple ambulances are on scene,” tagging a local media outlet. Another Facebook user reported passing the school and noticing many police cars and paramedics, stating, “So I’m passing Largo High School right now and there is something going on.
