Fire Incident at Dangote Refinery in Lagos

A fire outbreak was reported at a section of the Dangote Refinery situated in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State. Thick clouds of smoke rose into the sky from the facility, accompanied by the sound of an explosion which echoes through the area. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Confirming the incident, the Group Chief Branding & Communications Officer of Dangote Industries Limited, Anthony Chiejina, mentioned that the company had swiftly contained a minor fire at its effluent treatment plant earlier in the day. Chiejina assured the public that the refinery remains operational, emphasizing that no injuries or harm to staff have been reported.

The refinery, though amidst the fire incident, continues its operations uninterrupted. The quick containment of the fire at the effluent treatment plant prevented any significant damage or casualties. The safety and wellbeing of the staff at the refinery are a top priority for the company.
