Forgery Allegations Shake Nellore Municipal Corporation

Nellore Municipal Corporation (NMC) Commissioner Vikas Marmat has lodged a forgery complaint against key officials within the organization, plunging the municipality into a state of turmoil.

The complaint, sent to the district Superintendent of Police, accuses Mayor P. Sravanthi’s husband, P. Jayavardhan, and several Town Planning staff members of orchestrating a forgery scandal.

Among those implicated in the complaint are Mr. Jayavardhan, his assistant G. Siva Krishna, and Town Planning officials B. Praveen, M. Devendra, P. Nagendra Babu, and K. Karthik Malavya, all of whom had previously received show-cause notices.

The NMC Commissioner alleges that these individuals forged his signatures to authorize the release of mortgage documents without the necessary occupancy certificates, raising serious concerns about the integrity of the municipal processes.

In response to the show-cause notices, the accused officials denied any involvement in the alleged forgery, pointing fingers at Mr. Jayavardhan and Mr. Siva Krishna for potentially submitting falsified documents alongside genuine files during the mortgage approval process.

As a result of these developments, the NMC Commissioner has suspended the four employees and escalated the matter by requesting the Director General of the Vigilance and Enforcement Department to conduct a thorough investigation.

Furthermore, the Commissioner has urged the Superintendent of Police to initiate a comprehensive inquiry into the extent of the forgery and take appropriate action against all parties found to be complicit in the scandal.
