Hamas Gaza Public Executions October 2025

GAZA CITY, Gaza StripHamas has asserted control in Gaza following a ceasefire that took effect last week, amid reports of public executions targeting individuals accused of collaborating with Israel. The escalated violence has raised concerns about security in the region.

On October 13, 2025, members of the Hamas military wing executed seven men in a public square. Video footage circulated on social media shows the men being forced to kneel before they were shot, drawing cheers from onlookers who shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ amid claims the victims were collaborators.

Hamas officials stated that since the ceasefire commenced, they have killed at least 33 people in a crackdown on rival factions within Gaza. They emphasize their efforts to restore order in the enclave, which has been fractured by ongoing violence and conflict.

President Donald Trump, who brokered the ceasefire deal, suggested Hamas had been granted temporary authority to police the area. He noted that the group expressed a desire to quell further unrest. ‘They want to stop the problems, and they’ve been open about it,’ Trump stated during a visit to the region.

In response to the violence, Ismail Al-Thawabta, head of Hamas’ media office, assured that the group would maintain safety and security in Gaza. Israeli forces have been withdrawing from urban areas, with reports of several casualties from drone fire following the ceasefire.

Concerns linger over the group’s growing aggression. On social media, clips showed Hamas members engaged in firefights with rival clans. The Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights condemned the public executions, calling them extrajudicial killings.

Analysts warn that Hamas faces increasing challenges to its authority as rival factions reemerge. Some Gazans express hope for change while also fearing further violence. As the situation unfolds, many citizens are calling for an end to the bloodshed and a path toward recovery.
