Israeli Commandos Capturing Imad Amhaz In Batroun Lebanon

In a daring overnight operation, Israeli commandos captured Imad Amhaz, a senior Hezbollah operative, in the town of Batroun, Lebanon. The operation, which took place on Thursday night, involved a team of around 20 Israeli commandos who landed on the beach near Batroun, approximately 30 kilometers north of Beirut.

The capture was swift, lasting only about four minutes. Residents of the building where Amhaz was staying reported hearing movement and being instructed to go back inside by individuals claiming to be from State Security. The commandos then breached the door and took Amhaz away.

Amhaz, who is believed to be a commander of Hezbollah’s naval unit, has been taken to Israel where he is under investigation. Israeli sources indicate that he will be questioned about Hezbollah’s naval activities and capabilities.

A search of Amhaz’s home in Batroun revealed several items of interest, including approximately 10 foreign SIM cards, 5 USB drives, a burner phone, his Lebanese passport, and a travel document issued by the Panama Maritime Authority. The SIM cards were from various countries including South Africa, Colombia, Europe, the UK, and Senegal.

The operation has heightened tensions in the region and has drawn significant attention due to the involvement of Shayetet 13, Israel’s elite naval commando unit, which has a history of conducting operations in Lebanon.
