Jay Cutler Begins Four-Day Jail Sentence for DUI Charge

Franklin, Tennessee – Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler began serving a four-day jail sentence Monday at Williamson County Jail after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor DUI charge. Cutler, 42, will remain in custody until Friday as part of a plea agreement related to a traffic incident that occurred in October 2024.
The charges stem from an incident where Cutler allegedly rear-ended another vehicle in Franklin. Police reported signs of intoxication, including bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Officers claimed that Cutler refused field sobriety tests and had two firearms in his car, one of which was loaded.
As part of the plea deal, Cutler had a weapons charge dropped and was fined $350. In addition to his jail time, he is required to undergo a DUI safety class and will be on unsupervised probation for one year. His driver’s license will also be revoked for one year.
Cutler is a father of three children with his ex-wife, reality star Kristin Cavallari. The couple divorced in April 2020 after seven years of marriage. Their children, Camden, Jaxon, and Saylor, are now 13, 11, and 9 years old, respectively.
Following their split, Cutler and Cavallari have continued to publicly address their divorce, including financial matters. Cutler has played for several teams during his NFL career, most notably the Chicago Bears, where he remains the franchise’s leading passer. Despite his successful career, Cutler’s recent legal issues have overshadowed his athletic achievements.
As of now, the aftermath of the DUI incident continues, as the other driver involved in the crash, Perry Lee, has filed a lawsuit against Cutler claiming physical pain and emotional distress from the accident. This lawsuit is still pending.
