Kearsney College’s Class of 2023 Shines with Top Achievers
Kearsney College’s Class of 2023 at KZN private all-boys school has displayed remarkable academic excellence, with several students emerging as the top achievers, bringing pride and recognition to their institution. Nthato Sifumba, the runner-up Dux, received an outstanding eight distinctions, showcasing his dedication and hard work. His exceptional grades in subjects such as Afrikaans, Business Studies, English, IT, LO, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and FS Calculus, earned him the school’s admiration. Nthato was actively involved in the Kearsney College Choir and also excelled in basketball, hockey, and soccer.
Following closely behind was Anesu Chimusoro, the brilliant Dux pupil, who secured seven distinctions, including Accounting, Afrikaans, English, LO, Life Sciences, Mathematics, and Physical Sciences. Anesu’s remarkable performance in Physical Sciences placed him in the top 1% in South Africa. He also demonstrated his talent in field hockey and plans to pursue medicine at UCT.
Notably, Liam Jansen Van Rensburg and Fritz Rheeder also achieved remarkable success, each earning seven distinctions. Their dedication to their subjects will undoubtedly pave the way for bright futures. Seven boys from Kearsney College were ranked in the top one per cent in the country in various subjects.
Kearsney College’s headmaster, Patrick Lees, expressed his delight with the overall results and extended his appreciation to the boys, teachers, and parents for their incredible efforts. He also emphasized the effectiveness of Kearsney’s academic support program, which aided students in surpassing their own expectations and achieving excellent results.
