Knicks Sign Guerschon Yabusele to Two-Year Deal Worth $12 Million

NEW YORK, NY — Free agent center Guerschon Yabusele has agreed to a two-year, $12 million contract with the New York Knicks, including a player option for the second year, sources confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday.
The Knicks finalized the contract with Yabusele’s agents, Olivier Mazet and Richie Felder. Yabusele’s previous contract was a one-year, $2.1 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, which he signed last August.
Yabusele gained international acclaim for his performance in the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he played a key role in helping France secure a silver medal. During the tournament, the 6-foot-8, 260-pound power forward had standout games, scoring 22, 17, and 20 points against Canada, Germany, and the United States, respectively. He demonstrated impressive shooting skills, connecting on 66.7% of his shots from the field.
Following his success in Paris, Yabusele’s talent translated effectively to the NBA season. He averaged 50% shooting from the field and 38% from beyond the arc, becoming one of the few bright spots for a 76ers team that faced significant injury struggles.
Originally a first-round draft pick in 2016, Yabusele had a brief stint with the Boston Celtics before being waived in 2019. He played a season in China and spent time at ASVEL in France, a team supported by Basketball Hall of Famer Tony Parker. In 2021, Yabusele joined Real Madrid, where he contributed to the team’s EuroLeague victory in 2023 and helped them reach the Final Four each year.
The Knicks are hopeful that Yabusele will bring his high-level play to New York as they aim for a stronger season ahead.
