Local Dentist Patient Complaint

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A dentist in Creve Coeur, Missouri, is facing serious allegations after a viral social media post described a troubling interaction during a dental appointment. The post, shared more than 15,000 times, has raised concerns about patient care in his practice.

Jaqueline Ploudre recounted her experience at Artistic Dentistry, where she said a routine crown fitting escalated into distress. Ploudre, who has a lung disease, felt her breathing compromised when dentist Shea Wilson positioned her chair in an uncomfortable way. “I raised my finger to signal, ‘I need you to stop,’” she reported.

She said Wilson’s response shocked her. “He says to me, ‘No one gives an F about your panic attack,’” Ploudre recalled. She claimed that after this incident, Wilson told her to leave his office while she was bleeding. Another dentist later confirmed the damage to her mouth.

Ploudre also filed a police report, describing Wilson’s actions as physical and verbal assault; however, prosecutors chose not to press charges. Patients like Casey Coulter echoed Ploudre’s sentiments, stating that Wilson was disrespectful during her treatment and ignored her complaints of pain.

Patients have reported similar experiences, and some have suggested that Wilson should lose his dental license. Ivory Rigney mentioned that all crowns placed by Wilson failed shortly after treatment.

Dr. John Copeland, president of the Missouri Dental Association, emphasized the ethical responsibilities of dentists. He stated, “There’s the principle of ‘do no harm’ that all dentists should abide by.”

Amid growing concern, Ploudre has lodged a formal complaint with the Missouri Dental Board, which is currently reviewing the matter. While the board confirmed they received her complaint, they could not disclose details about any ongoing investigation.

Despite the accusations, Wilson has labeled the claims as false and defended his interactions with patients as necessary in a stressful environment. He acknowledged that he has occasionally used profanity but reserved it for patients who were distressed.

Chief Investigative Reporter Lauren Trager noted, “It really bothers me that after I’ve complained and expressed what he’s done to me, he’s still operating.” Ploudre hopes to raise awareness and prevent similar situations from affecting future patients.

In an emailed statement, Wilson reaffirmed that he did issue a refund to Ploudre. The investigation into his practice continues, with concerns about patient safety lingering among the community.
