Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Ahmedabad Airport on the evening of September 15, 2024, for a significant two-day visit to the state of Gujarat. This visit marks a key moment as Modi is scheduled to inaugurate several vital projects, emphasizing India’s advancements in renewable energy and infrastructure investment.

On September 16, Prime Minister Modi will attend and inaugurate the RE-INVEST 2024 event at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. This major conference intends to celebrate and propel India’s achievements and future in renewable energy. Delegates from around the globe, including representatives from Germany, Australia, Denmark, and Norway, are expected to attend. The conference will provide an opportunity for dialogues at the Chief Ministerial Plenary and specialized sessions which focus on innovative financing, green hydrogen, and future energy solutions.

In addition to the renewable energy summit, Prime Minister Modi will oversee the foundation laying and inauguration of several development projects valued at over ₹8,000 crores in Ahmedabad. These projects span multiple sectors, including transportation, energy, and housing. Notable projects include the expansion of the Samakhiali – Gandhidham and Gandhidham – Adipur railway lines, road developments, and the construction of new flyover bridges in Ahmedabad.

Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate significant energy projects, such as a 30 MW solar installation and a 35 Megawatt Battery Energy Storage System Solar PV Project at Kutch Lignite Thermal Power Station. Additionally, substations at both Morbi and Rajkot will be opened to support regional power distribution.

The Prime Minister plans to introduce the Single Window IT System (SWITS) for the International Financial Services Centres Authority to streamline financial services operations. Further, he will be involved with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, where he will sanction over 30,000 houses and the first installment for these homes, showcasing the government’s commitment to affordable housing.

A transport milestone will also be achieved as Modi is set to flag off India’s first Vande Metro, from Bhuj to Ahmedabad, alongside multiple Vande Bharat trains introduced across the country. These developments signify the ongoing enhancement of rail connectivity and modernization across India.

Sharing updates via his social media platform, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the various programs planned for his visit, expressing enthusiasm over engaging with beneficiaries of significant governmental schemes like the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

Earlier in the day, Modi, who had traveled from a visit to Jharkhand, made remarks emphasizing his administration’s focus on inclusive development and empowering tribal and underprivileged communities across the country.
