Regina Daniels Speaks Out Against Violence Amid Nationwide Protests

On August 7, 2024, actress Regina Daniels took to Instagram to address her followers about the growing unrest in Nigeria. Dressed in conservative attire, she emphasized her strong stance against violence.

She started her message by highlighting concerning events happening in the northern part of the country, mentioning the hoisting of the Russian flag. “Is this what we want?” she asked her audience. Daniels stressed that if this situation is happening in the north, it can easily spread to other regions.

In response to the backlash she received regarding her comments, particularly accusations that her privileged lifestyle influenced her stance, Daniels firmly defended herself. “I preached against violence and ignorant Nigerians said it’s because I’m privileged and opportune. Yes, I am privileged and opportune but that doesn’t stop me from understanding that my nannies need to be paid extra,” she said.

Daniels continued to express her concern for those around her, stating that her domestic workers also require additional support due to the rising security issues. She emphasized that one person alone cannot change Nigeria’s situation.

“I am not speaking for the government, nor am I speaking for you people to love me, I don’t need it. I am just stating the obvious truth,” she concluded, pointing out the urgency for everyone to recognize how serious the protests had become.

This statement comes amid nationwide protests against poor governance in Nigeria that began on August 1, 2024, which have turned increasingly violent.
