North Texas Storms Weather Forecast

DALLAS, Texas – Severe storms are moving across North Texas on Saturday, bringing high winds and quarter-sized hail. The storms are forecasted to affect areas near Fort Worth, Burleson, Crowley, Rendon, and Cross Timber. Other impacted locations include Briaroaks, Lillian, and Egan, particularly along I-35 between mile markers 28 and 42.

The National Weather Service indicates a slight risk for severe storms, especially in the eastern zones of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Forecasters project the primary threats to be damaging winds that could gust up to 60 mph and hail the size of half dollars. While there is a very low tornado threat, it is confined to these slight risk areas.

FOX 4 meteorologist Ali Turiano notes that the severe weather threat is expected to peak this afternoon, particularly between noon and 6 p.m. Conditions are anticipated to worsen as temperatures rise throughout the day, with the storms moving quickly from west to east.

As the day progresses, the most intense weather is likely to shift into the eastern and southeastern regions of North Texas. Areas from the I-35 corridor westward may be less affected by 4 p.m., but thunderstorms could linger in the far eastern areas, such as Palestine or Mejia, until as late as 7 p.m.

Looking ahead, a cold front will replace the severe weather with much cooler temperatures. Sunday is expected to bring clear skies, with morning lows in the 50s and a high around 75 degrees, marking a return to more typical fall weather.

This weekend’s storms are the first significant rain North Texas has seen in over three weeks. Consequently, officials are advising residents to prepare for potential disruptions to outdoor events.
