Tropical Storm Jerry May Form in the Atlantic This Weekend

Miami, Florida – The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring a potential tropical storm forming in the Atlantic. This system, known as “Invest 95L,” is expected to develop into Tropical Storm Jerry by Thursday or Friday.
The wave is currently located between Africa and the Lesser Antilles and has shown improved organization in recent days. Hurricane Hunter aircraft are scheduled to investigate this area on Wednesday morning if necessary.
This disturbance is forecast to move towards the west-northwest, potentially approaching the Leeward Islands by the end of the week. Most computer models predict it will likely become the 10th storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.
While there is a chance of significant rainfall and winds for the Leeward Islands, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands, forecasts indicate that the storm will likely curl northward into the central Atlantic, reducing risks to the mainland United States.
The NHC is also keeping an eye on another system over Mexico‘s Yucatán Peninsula, with limited chances for development. This area could bring heavy rainfall to Belize, northern Guatemala, and southern Mexico in the coming days.
