Trump to Posthumously Honor Charlie Kirk with Medal of Freedom

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump will posthumously award Charlie Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Tuesday, which would have been Kirk’s 32nd birthday. The co-founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA) was tragically killed during an event at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.
Friends and colleagues of Kirk are celebrating his legacy of faith, family, and patriotism. Andrew Kolvet, executive producer of ‘The Charlie Kirk Show,’ expressed gratitude to Trump for the honor, stating, ‘Although he was taken from us far too soon, his legacy will inspire generations to come.’
Kirk was shot and killed while chatting with students at the TPUSA event. In response to his death, many Republicans and conservatives vow to continue his mission of promoting family values and the Constitution. Trump called Kirk ‘a giant of his generation’ and an inspiration to millions.
Tyler Bowyer, TPUSA’s Chief Operating Officer, noted that the award ceremony will resonate with young adults connected to the conservative movement. ‘Charlie will be honored on behalf of the millions of conservative activists he helped lift up to save the movement and the country,’ Bowyer said.
David Engelhardt, lead pastor of Kings' Church New York City, remarked, ‘Charlie is the right recipient of the Medal of Freedom because he believed that God’s moral order found in faith is not a limit to freedom but the soil it grows in.’
In a touching tribute, Kolvet shared how Kirk’s passion for preserving American freedom has sparked a revival of faith and liberty since his passing. ‘In both life and death, his message sparked a revival of faith and freedom all across the world.’
The award ceremony will take place at the White House at 4 p.m. EDT. Kirk is remembered not only for his accomplishments but also for his impact on younger generations embracing conservative ideals.
Rob McCoy, a close friend and pastor, highlighted Kirk’s dedication to freedom: ‘Charlie Kirk contended for freedom his entire adult life and paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect and defend this inalienable right.’
Turning Point USA continues to honor Kirk’s legacy, with his widow, Erika Kirk, now serving as the organization’s CEO. She praised the efforts of TPUSA in shaping future generations with a strong foundation of truth and purpose.
