Ugc Net Exam 2024

The anticipation for the results of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2024 re-exam has heightened as the National Testing Agency (NTA) is poised to release the scorecards soon. According to official updates, the results will be made available on the dedicated UGC NET website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

The re-examination, initially scheduled for June, was rescheduled due to allegations that the question paper had been circulated on the darknet just prior to the scheduled test date. The re-exam was subsequently conducted between August 21 and September 4, 2024, in two separate shifts each day.

To access their results, candidates must enter their application number and date of birth on the login page of the official website, following which they are required to input a security code to complete the download of their scorecard. The final answer key, which is awaited in conjunction with the results, is also expected to be published on the same platform.

The UGC NET is a crucial examination held biannually for determining the eligibility of candidates for positions such as Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professorships across universities in India. This year’s rescheduled June session included two papers: a general paper and a subject-specific paper offering specialization in 83 subjects. The subject list features languages such as Hindi, English, and Sanskrit, alongside diverse disciplines including labor welfare and mass communication.

The examination format involves a total of 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions, divided into 50 questions for Paper 1 and 100 questions for Paper 2. The examination, spanning a combined duration of three hours, does not implement negative marking, a policy consistent with prior versions of the test.

Amid this, some candidates have expressed concerns over the provisional answer key, which purportedly contained multiple errors in certain subjects. The resolution of such concerns awaits the release of the final answer key. The UGC NET serves as a gateway for aspiring scholars in India to pursue academic excellence and secure roles within educational institutions.
