Ugc Net June 2024

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the results of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2024 will be declared by October 18, 2024. This announcement was made through a social media update by NTA earlier today, confirming the release date for candidates awaiting their results.

The UGC NET June 2024 examinations were conducted between August 21 and September 4 across multiple cities in India. The exams, held in a computer-based test mode, saw participation from over 900,000 candidates, indicating a high level of interest and competition in the scholarly pursuit of becoming eligible for Junior Research Fellowships and Assistant Professorships.

For those who took the exam, results will be available on the official website ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Candidates will need to log in using their roll numbers and registration details to access their scorecards, which will be declared in percentile format along with the marks obtained.

Sarah Johnson, a candidate who appeared for the exam, expressed relief at the announcement of the result date. “I’ve been eagerly waiting for the results as they are crucial for my PhD applications at institutions like the University of Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru University,” Johnson said. She added that the delay had caused stress due to upcoming application deadlines for research positions and scholarships based on UGC NET scores.

The UGC NET results are significant for academic progression as it determines eligibility for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and Assistant Professorships in Indian universities. The marking scheme awards two marks for every correct answer without any penalty for incorrect responses. In cases of erroneous questions, corrective measures have been articulated by NTA, ensuring fairness in the assessment process.

The official announcement by NTA also detailed reservation policies for various categories, ensuring inclusivity and representation in academia. The policy allocates 15% of seats for Scheduled Caste candidates, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe candidates, 27% for Other Backward Classes – Non-Creamy Layer (as per the central list), and 10% for General Economically Weaker Sections, among other criteria.

Alongside the website, the results will be accessible through mobile applications like DigiLocker and UMANG, enhancing accessibility for candidates. Additionally, the use of applications such as SANDES has been encouraged by NTA for receiving timely notifications.

With the results deemed crucial for academic and professional advancement, their release is highly anticipated. Candidate forums and online communities continue to buzz with discussions on prospects and preparation for the forthcoming academic pursuits based on the UGC NET outcomes.
