Destiny 2 Barrow Dyad Exotic Smg Guide

SEATTLE, Wash. — Players of Destiny 2 can now embark on a new quest for the Barrow-Dyad, an Exotic Strand submachine gun, following the launch of the hidden Exotic mission, “Derealize”. Released on February 11, 2025, with the weekly reset, enthusiastic Guardians are tasked with hunting for secrets across the solar system to unlock this unique weapon.

To obtain the Barrow-Dyad, players must first locate and complete “The Taken Path” quest found within the Dreadnaught during The Nether activity. Completing this quest leads to the final mission, “Derealize” – the key to acquiring the Exotic SMG and its perks.

Begin by accessing The Nether from the Last City map. Here, players should aim to find a special Taken Blight in one of the following locations: the Hall of Souls or Trenchway. The Blight is not guaranteed to spawn every time, so patience and repetition may be required to find it. The process begins by loading into a private instance and exploring until a Blight appears, offering a portal to engage with the quest.

Once a player enters the Blight, they will be greeted with a rune plate that provides directional prompts. Following these hints is crucial to progressing. Successfully interacting with the rune and navigating the ensuing teleportation will lead players to acquire the initial Exotic item, the Taken Osseous Fragment.

Players must then head to Eris Morn‘s Shaping Slab located on the Moon to officially pick up “The Taken Path” quest. This initiates a series of objectives scattered across various Lost Sectors, including the K1 Revelations Lost Sector in Sorrow’s Harbor and the Veles Labyrinth Lost Sector in the Forgotten Shore. At each stop, players will again be required to locate another Taken Blight and interact with it to retrieve additional fragments.

In the course of the quest, players will also need to address three curse quests: Curse of Endurance, Curse of Urgency, and Curse of Revenge. Completing objectives for these curses involves engaging with Taken Relics across mission zones, defeating enemies, and returning the fragments to their respective spawn points.

“With every fragment collected, players draw closer to starting the Derealize Exotic mission. Upon unlocking Derealize, players will confront a variety of challenging foes before they can finally seize the Barrow-Dyad,” said a community spokesperson.

Upon defeating the final boss in Derealize, players will receive the Barrow-Dyad Exotic SMG. The weapon boasts intriguing capabilities, notably the ability to produce Blight as it deals damage, making it a formidable addition to any Guardian’s arsenal.

As players dive deeper into Episode Heresy, the excitement surrounding hidden quests and new missions continues to engage the Destiny 2 community. The Barrow-Dyad joins an evolving lineup of distinctive weapons, adding unique mechanics to the game.
