New York, NY – The New York Yankees are eager for Aaron Judge to return to the outfield as they push for playoff contention. Judge, who has been performing well as a designated hitter, has been sidelined from field play due to a right flexor strain he suffered in July and August.

Manager Aaron Boone expressed optimism about Judge’s impending return, stating, ‘We absolutely feel like he’s gonna be back out there. I know I keep saying it’s soon, and I wholeheartedly feel that way right now, sitting here. I just don’t know that day yet.’ Boone’s remarks suggest a return date is uncertain but could be imminent.

While Giancarlo Stanton has filled in for Judge in right field, his performance has not matched Judge’s defensive capabilities. Boone noted that even a slightly less-than-100 percent Judge would be a significant boost for the team’s defense as they enter the critical playoff stretch.

This season, Judge has maintained an impressive .325 batting average, hitting 43 home runs, 97 RBIs, and 28 doubles through 128 games. His offensive production makes him a leading candidate for the American League MVP award, potentially competing with players like Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners.

As the Yankees aim to catch the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays in the AL East standings, Judge’s return to the outfield could enhance their chances of clinching a playoff berth. His exceptional fielding skills are expected to contribute positively as the team prepares for October baseball.
