Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz Reunite in Madrid for Museum Visit

MADRID, Spain — Actors Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz recently enjoyed a day out at the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid, where they posed in front of Picasso‘s iconic painting, Guernica. The pair shared smiles during their outing while filming their new movie, Day Drinker.
The museum posted pictures on Instagram featuring the duo dressed in casual but stylish attire. Their selfie and a distant shot captured them enjoying the cultural experience together. The post’s caption read, “Thanks for joining us @johnnydepp and @penelopecruzoficial, until next time! ❤️.”
Orlando Bloom, who starred alongside Depp and Cruz in the Pirates of the Caribbean films, showcased his support by commenting with two red heart emojis on the post on June 13, further highlighting the actors’ camaraderie.
Day Drinker marks the fourth collaboration between Depp, 62, and Cruz, 51. The film, directed by Marc Webb, follows a mysterious guest on a private yacht who encounters a grieving bartender portrayed by Madelyn Cline. Together, they will face intertwining challenges involving a criminal figure, played by Cruz.
The film’s cast includes Manu Ríos, Arón Piper, Juan Diego Botto, and Anika Boyle. This project marks Depp’s first major studio role since his 2018 film, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. It comes after a difficult period for Depp, including a high-profile defamation case involving his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
Cruz has previously defended Depp in court, stating, “I have not only made three movies with him, but I also count on him as a great friend. I’ve always been impressed by his kindness and talent.”
