Jamie Lee Curtis Charlie Kirk Podcast

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Actress Jamie Lee Curtis broke down in tears while discussing the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA, on Marc Maron’s podcast, ‘WTF.’ The emotional episode aired shortly after Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.

During the podcast, Curtis expressed her complicated feelings about Kirk, stating, “I disagreed with him on almost every point I ever heard him say, but I believe he was a man of faith.” She hoped that Kirk felt a connection with his faith at the moment of his death, despite their differing ideologies.

She also mistakenly referred to Kirk as “Charlie Crist,” attributing the slip to his “deep, deep belief” in his religion. As she fought through tears, Curtis expressed concern about the psychological impact of the footage circulating from Kirk’s assassination. “I don’t ever want to see this footage of this man being shot,” she said.

Reflecting on the timing of Kirk’s death, which coincided with the anniversary of 9/11, Curtis noted how society is overwhelmed with violent imagery. “We don’t know enough psychologically about what that does to people,” she added. “Is that the reason why we’re all feeling this lack of humanity?”

In the days following Kirk’s assassination, many prominent figures in Hollywood, including comedian Jimmy Kimmel, spoke out against the violence. Kimmel addressed the heartbreaking nature of the killing, stating, “On behalf of my family, we send love to the Kirks and to all the children, parents, and innocents who fall victim to senseless gun violence.”

Investigators have made arrests related to the murder, but details about the suspects remain scarce. Curtis’s heartfelt tribute sheds light on the complexities of loss, especially in a politically charged environment.
