Iga Swiatek Korea Open Tennis Championships

SEOUL, South Korea — The Korea Open Tennis Championships returns to Seoul, kicking off the Asian Swing on September 15, 2025. This prestigious tournament, now upgraded to a WTA 500 event, is expected to draw top talent eager to compete after the Grand Slams.

Six-time major champion and world No. 2 Iga Swiatek headlines the lineup, alongside world No. 4 Amanda Anisimova, the US Open finalist who previously defeated Swiatek in the quarter-finals of that tournament.

Other notable players include world No. 11 Ekaterina Alexandrova, world No. 12 Clara Tauson, and 2024 finalist Daria Kasatkina. Defending champion Beatriz Haddad Maia will also compete, bringing more depth to the tournament.

Notably, Emma Raducanu has opted for Seoul over the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, having retired in the quarter-finals here last season. Former Grand Slam winner Sofia Kenin plans to claim her place in the draw, while Roland Garros breakout Lois Boisson adds further intrigue.

The total prize money for the tournament is $1,064,510, with the singles winner taking home $142,000. With 500 ranking points available for the champion and 325 for the runner-up, the Korea Open plays a significant role in shaping the year-end rankings.

The tournament schedule is packed: it runs from September 15 to September 21, featuring various rounds leading up to the finals. Fans won’t want to miss any of the action, which will be broadcast on the Tennis Channel.
