Arlington, Texas – The United States secured a spot in the Billie Jean King Cup final by defeating Great Britain 2-0 on Saturday. Emma Navarro and Jessica Pegula won their respective singles matches to propel the Americans into the final.

World No. 17 Emma Navarro set the tone for the U.S. with a comeback victory over Britain’s Sonay Kartal. After dropping the first set 4-6, Navarro rallied to win the next two sets 6-4, 6-3. This win marked Navarro’s second consecutive match where she rallied from a set down, as she had also saved two match points in her earlier quarterfinal match against Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan.

Following Navarro’s success, world No. 7 Jessica Pegula clinched the tie for the U.S. with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory against Britain’s Katie Boulter. Pegula, who lost her singles match in the quarterfinals, rebounded effectively to contribute to the win and ensure the U.S. team advanced to their 31st Billie Jean King Cup final.

The victory was significant as it marked the 10th win for the U.S. over Great Britain in their history of 11 matchups in this competition. The United States, known as the most successful nation in Billie Jean King Cup history, is chasing its record-extending 20th title.

In the opposite semifinal, Italy secured its place in the final after defeating Ukraine. Jasmine Paolini came from behind to win her singles match against Elina Svitolina and later teamed up with Sara Errani to secure the doubles victory.

The highly anticipated final will see the U.S. face Italy, a team that has dominated recent tournaments and is looking for its sixth title. The showdown is set for Sunday, promising to be an exciting contest between two powerhouse teams.
