Delta Flight Bomb Threat Evacuation Incident

NEW YORK – A Delta flight from LaGuardia Airport to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was evacuated on Tuesday evening due to a reported bomb threat.

Delta Flight 2313 was preparing for takeoff when the crew reported a security concern around 8 p.m. Eastern Time. Passengers were asked to leave the aircraft and return to the terminal while authorities investigated.

The New York Port Authority confirmed that the plane was cleared by 10 p.m., but Delta stated that the flight would be delayed until Wednesday morning. Jason Matheson, host of FOX 9‘s ‘Jason Show,’ was among the passengers and shared his experience on social media.

Matheson recalled, “We got boarded, the plane went a little way down the runway. Stopped for about 40 minutes, and then we were told there was a security issue.”

Passengers were evacuated as authorities conducted a search of the luggage and the plane itself. A Delta spokesperson issued a statement saying the safety and security of customers and employees is the airline’s top priority.

The evacuation occurred shortly after a separate incident was reported at an airport in Washington, D.C. However, the connection between the two situations remains unclear.

Delta issued an apology for the delay, emphasizing their commitment to passenger safety.
