Arsenal’s Transfer Activity Heats Up Ahead of Deadline

London, England – Arsenal is making headlines during the summer transfer window as they have already spent over £250 million on new players, bolstering their squad with seven signings, including Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres.
This recent spending spree comes as Arsenal continues to focus on both incoming and outgoing transfers. Mikel Arteta’s side is looking to streamline their squad, with several players like Jakub Kiwior, Reiss Nelson, and Fabio Vieira likely to be on their way out.
Amid speculation, Arsenal has reportedly submitted a £10 million bid for Girona’s right-back Arnau Martinez. The offer includes an £8 million fee with £2 million in performance-related add-ons, as indicated by Foot Mercato.
Additionally, Turkish club Trabzonspor is said to be leading the race to acquire midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga, with discussions expected to ramp up before the European transfer deadline.
Meanwhile, Eze shared his emotional journey back to the club in an interview, expressing how he always dreamt of returning to Arsenal. “I’ve been on trial for four years. Every time I came to Arsenal, I looked at the seat I used to sit on and thought, ‘This is it – it’s time,’” he said.
Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta is under pressure to finalize more deals, as several players including Oleksandr Zinchenko and Albert Sambi Lokonga have been mentioned in potential transfer discussions. Further, reports hint that Arsenal is also interested in Lyon’s Malick Fofana and Sevilla‘s Dodi Lukebakio, though the latter has expressed hesitance in moving away from Spain.
With a week left before the transfer window closes, the focus for Arsenal now appears to be on expediting player departures while keeping an eye on further recruitment that could elevate their squad in the ongoing quest for trophies.
