Brooke Boney Says Goodbye To Today Show

The time has come for Brooke Boney to bid farewell to the Today show as she gets ready to start a new adventure at Oxford University in England.

Brooke, who has been a beloved part of the Today family for five years, finished her final show this morning with plenty of hugs and a few tears. As she prepared to head off to study, her proud Gamilaroi Gomeroi heritage shined through.

Her co-hosts, Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo, expressed their gratitude for her hard work and the joy she brought to the show. Karl thanked her for making live TV look easy, while Sarah highlighted how much everyone respected her commitment and connection with viewers.

As a special send-off, Brooke was given flowers, a cake, and some thoughtful goodies to support her as she embarks on her master’s degree. She shared heartfelt words with her colleagues, expressing how overwhelmed she felt by the love and support she received during her time on the show.

Brooke reflected on her journey, noting how incredible it felt to have experienced things she never imagined possible, from the Olympics to the Oscars. Growing up in housing commission, she acknowledged her family’s hard work and how it paved the way for her success.

She also pointed out how the Today show was a pioneer by having an Aboriginal person like her as a full-time host. This change has made it more common to see diverse faces on screen, and she hopes her journey opens doors for others.

Expressing her gratitude, Brooke thanked her friends, producers, and the audience for accepting her and tuning in. While she’s excited to head to Oxford, she admitted it’s tough to leave all the love and connections she’s made behind.
